About Celadon Floral

Celadon Floral was founded in February 2021 in Brunswick, Maine by Eliza Gray.

After nearly 20 years in the floral industry, working in retail stores and as a wedding florist, Eliza identified a need to provide high-end daily flower deliveries, as well as wedding and special event flowers to customers in Midcoast Maine. Her designs reflect the romantic aesthetic of wedding and event florals and feature beautiful, unique blooms with striking shapes and graceful lines, complemented by interesting, textural foliage.

What makes Celadon Floral stand out from other shops is its commitment to providing an exceptional experience for both the sender and the recipient. The business also prioritizes flower quality and longevity. During the spring, summer, and fall months, the shop sources flowers locally from farms across the state of Maine. During the winter months, flowers are imported from the Dutch flower market.

Eliza grew up around plants and flowers with both parents sharing an interest in home gardening and vegetable cultivation. Eliza remembers the moment she was inspired to work with flowers, growing up in Keene, New Hampshire, walking into a downtown flower shop.

After earning a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Sculpture from UMASS Amherst, she completed a summer internship at Mount Holyoke College Botanic Garden, where she gained valuable knowledge in seed collection, germination, plant identification, planting, dividing, staking, soil health, and cultivation. She then started her career in flowers, learning every aspect of the business as a retail florist.

Today, she runs her business from a home studio in Brunswick, where she grows her own flowers and foliage in addition to importing blooms from other sources.
