One of the farms I purchase wholesale flowers from during the growing season is Lazy Acres Farm in Farmingdale, Maine.
I reached out to Sarah on a whim when I was in need of flowers for a last minute event. I had never met her before but had seen her on social media and knew of her through the Maine Flower Collective.
It was a shot in the dark, but I sent her my request. She immediately responded with a list of flowers she was offering. Communicating with Sarah immediately put me at ease- she was incredibly helpful. As a vendor, Sarah is wonderfully responsive and organized. As a grower and designer, she is detailed, has a great aesthetic, high standards and wonderful taste. I've said this before, but growers like Sarah make my job easier.
Apart from the logistics and business side of things, experiencing her farm and flowers is like a trip to the spa. Her farm is idyllic- off of a country road with a self-serve farm stand and mature maple trees and wildflowers growing on the edges of her property. There are chickens roaming around, a beautiful old farm house with a side porch (my favorite) and a big old barn. I joke that her farm feels like a movie set- whenever I'm there to pick up flowers, the temperature is always pleasant and sun is always shining.
