Potting Up Dahlia Tubers

Last year, East of Eden announced that they would be stepping back from flower farming. On January 1st, they opened their online sale of Dahlia tubers. I snagged a bunch of different varieties.
Dahlia tuber
Each tuber arrived in its own bag, packed in vermiculite and labeled. Each tuber had already sprouted, so it was time to plant.
I picked up some brand new 6” grow pots at Skillin’s, used some Coast of Maine Potting Soil and taped the label to each pot. Since the tubers had already started sprouting, I gave them some water and put them on my shelving with LED grow lights overhead.
When the days get warmer, I’ll bring them outside during the day and bring them in at night.
