5 Reasons Why Small Events Are Better
Large celebratory events with 150-200 guests aren’t for everybody. If you enjoy more intimate gatherings and have a tighter budget, a small event might be just right for you.
5 Reasons Why Small Events Are Better
Small events are less expensive
Less of everything: (table linens, chair rentals, meals). Smaller menu. Smaller cake. Smaller bar tab. Fewer floral arrangements.
No need for a planner. A smaller event requires less coordination and logistics (moving from the ceremony to reception location, parking, shuttles…) and fewer vendors to manage.
Your venue can be anywhere
With a shorter guest list, you can rent out out a small room at your favorite restaurant or book a scenic Inn for the weekend.
Rent an Airbnb in a picturesque location (on the water or in the woods) and have your reception catered by a local caterer.
You’ll have time to talk to your guests
With a smaller guest list, you can spend time with your guests and have meaningful conversations.
No pressure to invite your long lost cousin, twice removed, or old friends from your youth. You can reserve space for those closest to you and your partner.
You can splurge on decor and small details
With fewer guests, you can splurge on table settings, luxurious linens, plates and cutlery.
It doesn’t take much to add impact and drama to a smaller reception room with fewer tables. You can omit floral centerpieces and add a floral installation over the dining table, and/or bring in a collection of large colorful arrangements to liven up the space.
Your event will be unique
Small, intimate gatherings are more memorable and can be as unique as you want them to be- there are no rules!
