What’s happening in July
July is a transitional month- when we say goodbye to locally grown peonies, stock, campanula and ranunculus and hello to snapdragons, sweet peas, Bells of Ireland, astilbe and the emergence of locally grown dahlias.
My cutting garden is still very green so I’ve relied on the Maine grown flowers from Winslow Farm in Falmouth, Annandale Flower Co. and East of Eden Flower Farm in Bowdoinham and Swell Farm in Rockland.
What I’m growing this year:
Mahogany Splendor
Ninebark
Verbena
Snapdragons
Strawflower
Kale
Asters
Clematis
Yarrow
Northern Sea Oats
